On 3 February 2007 Northern Lights Vet in collaboration with the Girl Scouts Susitna Council participated in Women of Science and Technology Day hosted at UAA. Dr. Paula J. Schmidt, Julie L. Eck, Gloria Clow and “Kobuk” the cat educated and presented in regard to animal care, rescue and medical technique. The girls ranged from 6-18 yrs old and practiced reading radiographs, utilizing the microscope, brushing pets teeth, basic laser surgery and suturing.
